Organized annually by Frédéric Encel since 2016, the Geopolitical Meetings of Trouville-sur-Mer serve as a space for public debates and exchanges. Their main objective is to facilitate the understanding of today’s world and the international issues shaping it.
For four days, experts, academics, journalists, historians, writers, artists, and politicians gathered in Trouville-sur-Mer to discuss and shed light on crises, conflicts, and major contemporary issues.
The Geopolitical Meetings of Trouville, held from September 19 to 22 under the theme “Women and Power”, were a resounding success. Manel Msalmi, president of several feminist associations and defender of human rights and minorities in Brussels and internationally, was invited as a speaker on the topic “Women in Power”. She spoke about her fight and commitment to empowering women at the European and international levels, especially in conflict zones in the Middle East and South Asia.
Among the high-level speakers were prominent figures such as Anne Sinclair, who was invited as a special guest, and Jeannette Bougrab, former minister and a strong advocate for women’s rights, who concluded the seminar with an inspiring and moving message.
Frédéric Encel, professor of geopolitics and founder of these meetings in 2016, expressed his satisfaction with this year’s edition, which he described as “triumphant”. Over three days, in the often-packed Salon des Gouverneurs, well-known guests took turns participating in various round tables.
